This film is like a film student's final drug addled thesis. Sometimes this is good, this, its very bad... David Bowie plays an alien...It's a 70s film with copious amounts of mammaries in that classic... Read moreliberarted seveties style..Bowie is good as an alien, its not much of a stretch..The dissonant alieness of us to him is portrayed very well by the director, this is made more disturbing by the revealining of his alien self, this is not Close Encounters, but a more realistic insight into how a being from a different planet would really be, terrifying in his strangeness and isolated profoundly by it..I liked the idea but the film loses its way turning to erratic oddness and making little real sense.. It's rated as bad by me becuse its just too hard to watch but occasionally the film's ability to invoke an emotional resoinse with the most banal of things is impressive..
You have to believe it to see it
