Eliminating Evil Since 1812

Once upon a time there lived two dashing brothers who roamed the lands of Napoleonic Europe, vanquishing monsters, demons, witches and all such evil that came before them. But the foes aren't real, merely optical illusions... and Will and Jacob Grimm (Matt Damon & Heath Ledger) are conmen, inventing stories of magic and horror so they can fleece the simple, superstitious country-folk of a quick buck. But when the conmen's fairytale ride gets a good dose of reality, they discover what's really hiding in the forest. This is the folkloric legend of two brothers who start out frauds and unwittingly become heroes as they are forced to confront all that their imaginations have brought to life. It's an epic battle between fantasy and reality, laced with spectacular special effects, loaded with incredible stunts and spiked with a swashbuckling sense of fun.

Mixed views about this, I expected it to be better. Interestingly weird slant on Grimms Fairy Tales. I would have been annoyed if I had paid to see this at the movies, but an ok watch.

Gorgeous to look at, with broad panto-style acting and a frenetic pace, this riff on the Grimm's fairytales is entertaining enough. And compared to the dreary Narnia and Harry Potter movies, it's downright... Read more

I thought it was okay although getting to the story of the movie took awhile. The scenery/props were great. I thought combining all of the well known fairy tales was great. All in all was a good movie.

Plenty of talent here, bit of a waste since the story was mixed and did not keep my attention

This was pretty light hearted viewing, a bit of fun in places, a mix up of fairy tales but enjoyable watching, acting not too bad, enjoyed it. Filmed very dark though, not a lot of colour, added to the effects of the movie
