1990 M Contains violence.

The Master of Horror unleashes everything you were ever afraid of.

IT can be anything. A fanged monster that won't stay on the movie screen. Something ominous lurking in the basement. No matter what your biggest fear is, no one knows IT better than Stephen King. Based on King's 1986 bestseller, IT is a jittery, jolting excursion into personal fear starring Harry Anderson, Annette O'Toole, John Ritter and Richard Thomas. A malevolent force in a small New England town takes the shape of a clown (Tim Curry), but he's not clowning around. Instead, he terrifies youngsters and brings some to their untimely doom – until some wily kids fight back. The evil resurfaces 30 years later: meaner, angrier, deadlier. And friends who vividly remember youthful terrors reunite to battle IT.

Ok. I used to think this was a scary movie when i was a kid but its not. My son who is 10yrs old thought it was lame. Watching it again as an adult, i don't think it's worthwhile sitting through 3hours for. And the ending is rubbish.

Quite an enjoyable movie combining elements of "Stand By Me" with King's usual unconventional horror stories. The last 20 minutes does get a bit predictable and tedious, but still worth a watch.

Not very scary by todays standards, the book is a lot more creepier. However if you are a horror/Steven King fan and don't mind a bit of cheese then you will find it not bad for a blob-out afternoon.

A very pooly made film in terms of hammy acting, dreadful screenplay and most of all special effects (which are laughable - especially the ending). A very poor film of what is a very good storyline. One to avoid.

a great movie still, a bit dated now but the performance of Tim Curry is just the best, still worth an enjoyable watch.

Read the book: it is a much better depiction of bullied youths, the movie does not go as in depth into the psychy of the characters. Hard to follow the year changes. well acted, tim curry is a genius

If you like Stephen King and a real good story this movie is highly reccommended. Some of these older movies can still scare the hell out of you the second time around and this one is no exception. A must see.

Wow, still a great movie - scarier when it first came out, but that's only due to modern technology. Tim Curry is absolutely brilliant! The story covers years of childhood friends and the tragic circumstances... Read more

I remembered watching this when I was 9 years old, that was a long time ago. It took me a long time to get over the clown. Watching it again the clown still gives me the creeps, the storyline was alright, and I enjoyed it.
