This movie never gets old, Watching this classic brings back memories of going to the movies as a kid and thinking wow what if this was real.
This series I would recommend to everyone to watch... Read more, for the year it was made who would have thought this was someones imagination and the characters make you really think. Enjoy like I did and will continue to when I watch it again
The absolute number one Star Wars film. Period. Although i prefer the ending of Return Of The Jedi. The ending of this is more famous however. All in all. One of my top 10 films of all time. Very difficult list to get into
... the saga continues in the Rebel's struggle to establish peace and freedom throughout the galaxy. In this Episode, the Rebels are on the run from the Empire after the destruction of the Death Star... Read more. This episode paves the way for the final set of the trilogy. It is not a good time for the Alliance. Really spectacular places and settings. More intrigue and action as Luke is being baited with the capture of his friends Han Solo, Leia, Chewie and C3PO. He has just started his Jedi training with Master Yoda when he has to run out to save his friends from the evil plans of Darth Vader.
As always, nothing beats Star Wars. If you liked Episode IV you'll love Episode V.
Put simply: this is as close as you can get to a perfect film.
I love this film. It is my favourite. Not only of the Star Wars trilogy, but of all-time. It is pure genius. Easily the best... Read more written, best directed, best acted and most compelling of the trilogy.
And perhaps this may be - as sad as it makes me to say - because this is the film Lucas was least involved in. Lucas wrote the story for this instalment and produced it, but handed over the directing duties to Irvin Kershner who - through either genius or luck - turned it into the masterpiece it is.
What I love about this film is its simplicity. The simplicity of the story and themes - good vs. evil and the simplicity of the shots and what Kershner is able to do with them.
Kev29 The more you see of these films it reminds one of Space Exploration of today, what with walking on the Moon and Land on Mars.
Awww i really Loved this movie with the little E-woks they are so cute!
A rather too long, swashbuckling adventure, that gets a bit tedious at times, but with some light relief from the two droids. The little Jedi master adds some more interesting counterpoints with his... Read more quasi Zen comments. I'm allowing for the era in which this movie was made, with its rather PC approach, but I guess I'm admitting that I'm all Starwared out, and probably getting too old for it. I saw it all those twenty years ago, and enjoyed it then and wanted a reminder of what I saw.
i grew up with the star wars movies , along with the indiana jones trilogy...or whatever...once again it never ceases to bore me with the special effects. My husband loved it and tells me to rate it 5. I went to bed. A blokes movie. I have no idea what it was about.
Brilliant, nothing quite like the star wars experience and episode 5 starts getting into the climax of the storyline. Awesome special effects for it time.
