I enjoyed this film overall, although some of the violence was above my liking. The film was based on a comic and is suppose to be bit mad, a bit fantasy, a bit unreal , a bit dark, with some larger... Read more than life characters, and it does all this. There are also some twist and turns in the plot. The story idea of the struggle of the lower classes is old but is done in a new way here.
A promising story and some quirky characters. A bit strange and certainly an acquired taste. Worth watching, but not everyone in my household would agree
A Gem! I was expecting a schlock sci-fi that was going to have the usual unconvincing acting, cheesy CGI, wooden anti-hero and dreary tidy ending. It didn't -Yay! Yes, it is set on a train but... Read more it is intended to be an allegory. In this man made ice age in a post apocalyptic world the train and it's inhabitants represent those that have and those who have not. Our expectation of where people "belong" and what we are willing to do or sacrifice to get what we need. It is a dystopia that is comparing modern society with those at the 'back' of the train and how without their oppression the 'front' could not have life's spoils. It is action packed, violent, slightly twisted and well acted. Tilda Swinton is brilliant. It also helps that in this Chris Evans is gorgeous but then I like men to look like big, angry Vikings - freakin' yum!
Acting was poor, script made the characters weak. Tough to make a movie entirely on a train work, i don't know the comic though.

weird and wonderful - different than we expected but in a good way
Truly awful. Wish I hadn't wasted 121 minutes of my life on this one!
Almost 4 stars , I knew what I was up for and enjoyed most of it for what it was , makes me think of that machine the scientist built underground in Europe to have things wizz round and crash into each... Read more other to "capture" how a black hole is formed , stupidity really... but that's humanity
Weird & revolting... could have had potential.
It had me guessing but I was disappointed.
I'm a bit torn about this - I really enjoyed watching it, but by the end realised there was no real plot to speak of, just a forward trajectory. Beautifully shot, and an interesting premise, but it... Read more won't change your life. Or even really leave with anything to think about.
