Fantastic Movie - Loved every minute of it. A real trip down memory lane. Very funny and engaging - would definitely see again. Recommend to all.
An excellent portrayal of the best and the not so good elements of human nature. A story of solidarity, love, division, and the indomitable human spirit.
This was a clever and well-acted feel-good film, but to achieve this the characters were simplistic, and so much of the interesting stuff was just smoothed over. I felt quite disappointed by the end.
If you loved The Full Monty, Billy Elliot, and Kinky Boots etc, you'll love this, despite the fact that they're all the same movie, with the same agenda. The bigger problem however is that none of them... Read more tell us the full story, which is much more interesting than the one we see. So if you know nothing about the politics of the time you'll have no idea why the government made drastic decisions to close the mines in the first place. There are some really good performances, but if you check out the real story, you might see the film in a very different light.
For most of the time it avoids the traps. There are some very good segments. The female characters in particular are excellent.
Excellent movie and cast. Really extraordinary story. Being based on true events made it more emotional.
Excellent movie and human interest story. Beautifully told with a lot of human emotion. xx
Great movie and sad to think of the AIDS epidemic that followed. Really enjoyed it.
Loved every minute of this movie, have seen it twice and enjoyed it immensely both times. There's a little bit of everything in it and particularly loved the Welsh bursting into song.
Best thing about it is, it's funny but BBC please, solidarity.
