What would you do if you were accused of a murder, you had not committed... yet?

Superstar Tom Cruise gives his "most potent action performace" (David Ansen, Newsweek) in director Steven Spielberg's "sharpest, brawniest, most bustling entertainment since Raiders of the Lost Ark" (Richard Corliss, Time). For six years, Washington D.C. has been murder free thanks to astounding technology which identifies killers before they commit their crimes. But when the chief of the Precrime Unit (Cruise) is himself accused of a future murder, he has just 36 hours to discover who set him up - or he'll fall victim to the "perfect" system he helped create. It's a mind blowing action thriller that's such an achievement, it "reminds us why we go to the movies in the first place" (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times).

This is about free will versus determinism. Tom Cruise ends up shooting the person he has been predicted to kill, but by accident - a cop-out in my opinion.

Also the plot hinges on evil bad guy... Read more

The special effects are much what you would expect from a special effects director - pretty good. The SF plot encourages you to read Philip K. Dick but the overlong film loses interest in the SF after... Read more

No idea what this movie was about. Lost me in the first 5 minutes. Too much time spent on flashing lights and whirligigs. Not for the over 50's.

Boring. Predictable. Pretentious. Uninspired. Too long. Could have been an interesting study of free will vs. predetermination and exploring technology's place in society, but it's just another Hollywoodland... Read more

A great movie. I don't like sci-fi stuff but this had me watching till the end.

This was a very futuristic movie, with good special effects of travel in the future, but enough human interest to not be pure science fiction.
