I agree with Alibaster Turkey this film had such promise and then deteriorated into rubbish 2hrs 40m was way too long and with a ridiculous plot. The whole thing was a waste of time.
Sixty minutes too long, this is a piece of self indulgent Nolan tosspottery. First half hour about post breakdown USA was great, then descended into dumbed down science and paradoxes and basically a deus ex machina.
Interstellar is the best movie about space travel yet. If you have any interest in space exploration, worm holes, black holes, relativity, gravity, time, or multi-dimensionaity, you have to watch this... Read more movie. Although it is nearly three hours long, it is unpredictable and intriguing, yet accessible and engrossing to viewers who have only a limited understanding of the concepts. You may need an intermission, but you will want to watch it to the end.
The movie has some flaws, and the acting was good but not superb. Still, the whole experience made me want to watch the movie again, and hope that one or more sequels will unfold.

Over ambitious. Better to have made a film about the dust storm country and another about space. Editing at times abrupt. "Won't be home for dinner off into space" scenario stretched credibility as... Read more did the weeping. The sci-fi & visuals were commendable.
Picked it halfheartedly but was pleasantly surprised of the story shift from the norm of space movies
I was gripped by this movie from start to finish. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a bit of space opera.
About the closest you'd get to a Stephen Baxter novel on the big screen (depending on the size of your TV) and therefore excellent.
