This is the least Indiana Jones-like of them all. In the early movies he didn't talk too much unless someone was about to stick their hand in a hole full of snakes, or something similar. He was too... Read more engrossed in what he was looking for. In this one he's a smart talking academic and comes across like a newly capped university student. Worse, the film's producers and director have suddenly turned pro-communist and leave overt visual statements all throughout the action. Once you've finished being bombarded with these, you're bombarded with references to the earlier movies. There's so much of the stuff it's distracting. Only five people die in the whole movie, none horribly, one via CGI enhancement, and you don't even see the soldiers getting shot. None of the Russian soldiers can shoot accurately - even over a distance of ten metres. The whole mind control interdimentional/alien thing just didn't work.
Harrison Ford could have made another movie playing Indiana Jones, but the director and script writer let him down. Everything is dumbed down, overdone and softened up. Raiders of the Lost Ark this is not.
An other Steven Spielberg movie full of action and adventure though out this enjoyable movie with good action by all actors if you have enjoyed watching indiana j you will enjoy this movie for sure
Dull sequel which didn't consist of much more than big budget set-piece action sequences, followed by absurd exposition on how to advance to the next big budget set-piece action sequence... and then... Read more (at the risk of spoiling) simply replace 'eternal life' and 'holy grail' with 'knowledge' and 'crystal skull' and you have the exact same ending as Last Crusade. Tough work being a script writer these days, I guess. This movie never felt like anything other than George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford cashing in on the huge fan base left after the brilliant third instalment. I imagine if you liked the other three movies simply because they were Indiana Jones, you'll like this one as well. If you liked the others (except the horrid Temple Of Doom) because they were clever, well made, entertaining films, this movie will be a shocking disappointment.
Excellent movie. Not as good as 1 o 3, but easily beats out part 2, very good film
Started off well, classic Spielberg Indiana Jones, but I thought it lost it's way and nothing close to Raiders of the Lost Ark
Haven't seen for a few years, still a great action movie, not that I'm a Harrison Ford fan. Still recommended to anybody that likes good action movies
Found it a bit boring, didn't think the storyline was that great. Think they should've left Indy's legend at the last movie.
Great to see Indy again.Story kept to the typical Indy plot. Some very good stunt moments, incorporating some CGI, but not too much. Well done.
The set designs are terrific from the period street scenes to those underground among the cobwebs and skeletons. A talented supporting cast includes the great John Hurt who raises his character above what it would have been in other hands.
Over the top action scenes and plot sections. At times very fake looking C.G.I This movies seems to try too hard to wow a modern audience but ends up boring them instead, taking too much time to advance the story line. Quite disappointing.
