Very enjoyable kiwi movie some nice moments a film the whole family would enjoy
A truly NZ film. The acting was excellent, and the story engaging. Great filming of the NZ bush.
So cool! We loved it! Many lol moments. Highly recomended
Unfortunately hype killed the party. This film ponged of Kiwana that took something away from its form. How many NZ films require a cartoon cop and slightly under done acting? Sorry but wanted to be... Read more with you all on this one but just couldn't cope with the force fed NZ nature of it. Rotten tomatoes somewhat losers a bit of mana also if 97% is to believed.
Yes, the characters were over the top , really all of them, but it was a really funny film with some affecting times, and themes.
Great for all the family .. and I've seen it twice with pleasure.
This is a very very good film. Very kiwi, funny, and touching in parts. My only quibble is the over the top bits with the social worker.
I agree with fatsofan, a lot of hype. I was quite disappointed as it ended up being nothing special. (The character of the woman from Social Welfare was particularly annoying and unfunny.)
I got sucked into the media-hype with this movie. I was looking forward to a really funny movie. Nearly every well known New Zealand actor was in it, which makes it 100% kiwi - and Sam Neil and Julian Dennison were great in the leading roles. Can't give it a higher score than two.
Quite enjoyable movie with some funny moments but sadly it made that fatal comedy error - it went completely over the top towards the end; and that part became increasingly tedious.
I really enjoyed this movie. I really like Sam Neill as an actor and he portraits the grumpy guy perfect. The chemistry of the actors were great and it was a lot of fun to watch.
