2005 M Contains Violence & Sex Scenes.

In Victorian London, the orphaned Sue Trinder is raised by Mrs. Sucksby, den mother to a family of thieves, or "fingersmiths."

To repay Mrs. Sucksby's kindness, Sue gets involved in a scam but soon regrets it. Fingersmith is the next slice of engrossing lesbian Victoriana from Sarah Waters (Tipping The Velvet).

This hypnotic suspense drama, based upon the book of the same name, is awash with all manner of gloomy Dickensian leitmotifs: pickpockets, orphans, grim prisons, lunatic asylums, "laughing villains," and, of course, "stolen fortunes and girls made out to be mad."

Did not know where this one was heading. Interesting story, maybe a little long. But very watchable

Hello, plot? Pretty disappointing, I thought. The milieu seemed right, and the acting was OK, but it didn't satisfy.

Loved the movie and all of the actors in this movie. Great to watch and certainly matched the book. A real woman's movie and I do recommend this to women who like woman movies.

Surprisingly good story with many twists and turns. Great acting especially the two main female leads, whose chemistry was undeniable.

This was a film made for TV which had already been shown on Sunday Theatre. A bit disappointed all round, nothing startling.

What a twist to the tale, I absolutely loved this movie!

I've read the book and really this is one of the few movies that do the book justice, pure brilliance!

Web of intrigue which includes Romance, lies and betrayal. This series kept me guessing and the end result was a surprise and one I had not really considered in the beginning. I really liked it.

It was certainly different - good to see an interesting take on historical novel. The story has a great twist.
