The story of an uncommonly gentle man

Once upon a time in a castle high on a hill lived an inventor whose greatest creation was named Edward. Although Edward had an irresistible charm, he wasn't quite perfect. The inventor's sudden death left him unfinished, with sharp shears of metal for hands. Edward lived alone in the darkness until one day a kind Avon lady took him home to live with her family. And so began Edward's fantastical adventures in a pastel paradise known as Suburbia. From Tim Burton, the director of "Batman" and "Beetlejuice," comes an unforgettable fairy tale about a most unusual character.

Different to what I thought it would be. It's OK. Has some good moments.

I'd missed this when it came out... still has Tim Burton's wow factor for fantasy but... it's really dated now... Depp sure can act... pity he got mixed up with all those pirates!

An enjoyable watch for us and the kids (10/11). I didn't like the ending all that much but at least it wasn't entirely predictable

Really liked this film, unusual topic, very well directed with some good comic moments. Makes a change from the usual Hollywood gumf

A fanciful fairytale of a boy with an impossible affliction - the scissorhands - and the almost predictable way the small community reacted to the interesting situations created.
