Tarantino at his best - moments of grim brutality interspersed with some absolutely hilarious moments, put together with a great story and excellent background music.
I respect Tarantino's work but I felt some scenes were so gratuitously violent. The racial injustice was difficult to watch. He knows how to pick an excellent cast and get the best performances out... Read more of them though (although his own Aussie accent wasn't that flash!).
Unexpectedly liked this and I wouldn't usually pick this genre to watch!! Surprised by plot and not all that predictable..Pretty cool movie..Me and My Honey watched it together the other night and both thoroughly enjoyed it..
Put your brain in neutral and go along for the ride. Tarantino has fashioned an entertaining and diverting tale, set in a relatively unexamined period of time. Lots of sub-texts (the ageing Southern... Read more belle) Jamie Foxx enhances his reputation; Christopher Waltz is excellent.
Regular Tarantino fans, we enjoyed this more than we expected to. Even while you immerse yourself in the film you are still consciously enjoying the make-believe of it. The gruesome violence was really... Read more cringweworthy in a couple of scenes, but otherwise the whole was very satisfying. Interesting plot, excellent character acting, great scenery. Perhpas a bit more rounded-out than other Tarantino movies which have seemed a bit uneven to me. No comment on historical accuracy and no wonder they delayed release following school shootings ... !
It was Tarantino bloody and bloody entertaining. I soon even 4 got that Jamie was the black avenger and the racial injustice wasn't too bad, I seen worse, and so the revenge didn't have to be too brutal... Read more, thank God. And the huge irony of a German helping a black man is genius and those hilarious KKK scenes just showed what morons they were and are. Nyway, just go for the rip roaring ride at least. Enjoy!
Some genuine funny moments. Waltz and Jackson take the acting honours. The set designs are impressive as is the stunt work (see "Making Of"). The action gets more & more over the top - the film struggles to find an ending.
More Tarantino magic, a little slow in parts but well worth a watch. Christoph Waltz is OUTSTANDING (as he was in Inglorious Basterds)
Superb. Violent in true Tarantino style, funny, classy, lovely to look at. We really enjoyed this.
Some very funny dialogue and the style is good but this drifts and has too much really disgusting violence for me. I do, however, remain a fan of Tarantino.
