Personally I loved this movie more than the first one. In fact, I couldn't fault it! It held my attention till the very end and I didn't find it predictable as did a fellow reviewer. The special effects... Read more were awesome as well, so now I can't wait for a third one to be made. Judging by the ending, they do actually intend to make a part 3...I hope!
Actually - I liked the first movie, which involved still some brain, character development and emotional feelings. With that in memory I expected more from this sequel. What I got was a somewhat disappointing... Read more and predictable movie involving lots of computer generated horse riding apes, but little depth and a very small number of highlights; Take a C-class Western and replace the Indians with apes ... well, you get the picture.
I didn't feel the love for this movie that many reviewers have expressed. It's entertaining but very predictable, even if you haven't seen any of the earlier movies. The CGI isn't as good or convincing... Read more as you would hope or expect, and the animation (the way the apes move) is only average. I know WETA did most of the work and they are as sacrosanct as the All Blacks, but despite the realism, the apes still looked digital to me, just as in the previous movie. Of course, the technical aspects are all excellent like the wet fur, eyes, and textures, but these 3D creatures, like their human co-stars, are missing a soul. As a result, I just didn't feel connected to Caesar, his family and tribe, or even care about the humans in the story. In the last movie with James Franco, it was easy to bond with both Caesar and his caretaker (Franco) as part of their extended family. In this movie, it didn't matter who won, lost or even survived.
An intense frightening thriller with a violent under belly.
I really enjoyed this movie, it might have been a bit predictable but I expected that, I liked the people and ape interaction, it was a movie that I felt was very emotional and it did hold my attention all the way through.
A Gr8 installment to the Planet of the Apes movies, filling in more of the story.
Follows on from the last movie Rise of the planet of the Apes, i found this movie far superior than the last. Well worth the watch :-)
Might be appreciated more by those who haven't seen the previous editions - otherwise it's basically an action film.
love this movie better than the first one!!! So much better! It is a movie full of meaning! Heart touching.
Great story line, not my usual genre of film but still thoroughly enjoyed this one
