Woody Allen's great films are all so exceptional, that whenever he makes one that's not at the level of those films, everyone jumps on him. But there's nobody else in the business who's still making... Read moreromantic comedy-dramas for adults, so we should be grateful. Because even his second best work is usually way above everyone else's. This isn't a masterpiece, but it stunning to look at, everyone's terrific in it, and as usual he nails the battle of the sexes perfectly. This one repeats some of his earlier themes, but I really enjoyed it. And Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively are wonderful.
Anyone who is anyone will be seen at Café Society.
Set in the 1930s, Woody Allen’s bittersweet romance CAFÉ SOCIETY follows Bronx-born Bobby Dorfman (Jesse Eisenberg) to Hollywood, where he falls in love, and back to New York, where he is swept up in the vibrant world of high society nightclub life. With CAFÉ SOCIETY, Woody Allen conjures up a 1930s world that has passed to tell a deeply romantic tale of dreams that never die.
